Jennifer K. Fry
Jennifer Fry joined the Parallels team as a private contracted therapist in March of 2017 where she conducts various psychological assessments and evaluations to include diagnostic interviews as well as providing individual, group and family psychotherapy to a variety of populations. Jennifer specializes in providing treatment to high-risk youth and adults in crisis to include adolescent sex offenders, victims of sexual abuse, trauma, suicidality, self-harming behaviors, grief management, family and relationship conflicts, and substance use disorders.
Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Relations from Doane College in 2012 and obtained her Master of Arts in Counseling in July of 2015. Jennifer’s graduate level experience consisted of counseling students and providing crisis intervention at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Norris High School, and the Nebraska Loss Team. Her graduate studies focused on crisis intervention, suicide prevention, grief and bereavement management; earning her several accreditations.
In August of 2015, Jennifer obtained her provisional licensure as Mental Health Practitioner and is continuing to pursue her provisional licensure as a Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Jennifer continues to provide crisis intervention at the University of Nebraska and most recently was a outpatient therapist at the Child Guidance Center where she conducted diagnostic interviews and provided individual, group and family psychotherapy to a variety of populations. She also assisted the Juvenile Justice Institute and Nebraska Crime Commission with data regarding therapeutic interventions and the prevention of juveniles being placed on probation.
Jennifer is a member of the American Counseling Association, the American Association of Suicidology and has served on the Nebraska State Suicide Prevention Coalition as well as the Nebraska Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors (LOSS) team. Jennifer has over 10 years of professional experience in human service field where she has worked with several diverse populations and community partners.
Jennifer has lived in the Lincoln area the past 20 years. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends including her husband, Jeff and their 5 children. Jennifer has a wealth of experience helping others overcome various challenges and barriers due to a vast array of difficult life circumstances.
