Shannon Sticken
Shannon Sticken received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Nebraska in 2002. She received her Masters degree in clinical psychology in 2006 and received her Doctorate degree in clinical psychology in 2008 from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology (Argosy-Phoenix).
She was a doctoral intern at the South Mississippi Psychology Internship Consortium (SMPIC) from 2007-2008. She has completed her postdoctoral hours at the sexual addiction treatment facility known as Gentle Path. At Gentle Pat she was in charge of the psychological testing and Phase II programming. She is currently working on becoming a licensed psychologist in the state of Nebraska and obtaining her Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) training.
Throughout her academic and professional career Dr. Sticken has worked with children, adolescents and adults. While obtaining her undergraduate degree she worked at GIrls and Boys Town for 4 years. During graduate school she completed 3 years of formal practicum training. Her praticum experiences include: 1) Treatment Assessment Screening Center (working with adults and adolescents who have substance absue difficulties who are on federal or state probation), 2) PREHAB of Arizona (working with childre and families in crisis and whom are dealing with mental health issues), and 3) Adolescent Substance Abuse Program (working with adolescents who are dealing with substance abuse issues).
Dr. Sticken was employed by Treatment Assessment Screening Center after completing her formal practicum where she worked until 2006. At that time she began working for Dr. Curtis Walling at Learning Effective Sobriety Skills (LESS) where she worked until leaving for doctoral internship.
