The Professionals Program (PP) is a structured outpatient treatment program appropriate for professionals and executives that uses a psychological model for treatment. Dr. Herdman emphasizes the role of cognitive processes in behavior, especially using Bandura s concept of self-efficacy the perceived ability to change or control one s own behavior, and Ellis and Velten s approach for modifying pathogenic beliefs that may underlie substance abuse and other problems. The PP is a cognitive-behavioral model of therapy appropriate for many mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship, alcohol, drug, or any addictive or compulsive behaviors.

If your reason for entering the PP at Parallels is related to substance use, you will attend 5 weeks of substance abuse education classes. You must attend one class per week. You will meet with Dr. Herdman about 3 times before beginning group and weekly during most of the PP. Individual sessions are scheduled on a flexible basis. Treatment is considered complete when you accomplish the goals identified on your treatment plan. Payment Plans for this program are available, but all services need to be paid within six months of your discharge date. There is a pre-pay discount option. If you pre-pay $3,000.00 for the Professionals Program, you will receive a 10% discount on all services. Any unused balance will be refunded to you.
